October 22-November 28, 2021

Ineke van Werkhoven was born in Uitgeest, the Netherlands and studied at Kunstnijverheids School in Amsterdam. She continued her studies in the United States at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit.
She worked and lived in a rural Berks County, PA farmhouse and converted barn built in 1795. Ineke had taught children’s art classes in Kenosha, WI and watercolor technique at Wyomissing Institute of Fine Arts now known as Yocum Institute for Arts Education.
Her personal interpretation makes her watercolors unusual, with their transparent quality, sensual colors and daring composition.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and the Berks Art Alliance. She is well known in Berks County and beyond for her vibrant watercolors. Ineke has participated in many juried art expositions, showings and has received the Coggins award in 2016. The Yocum Institute for the Arts has created an award in her name, The Ineke VanWerkhoven Award for Excellence in Watercolor. Her elegance and grace will continually be with us in her legacy of watercolor paintings which reside in many homes, offices, and galleries not only in Berks county, but across the state, country and even the world.
Join us for this final exhibition of her remaining work available for public purchase.
All artwork will be available to purchase and take with you same day.
