Music Mates Beginners (Ages 4-6)

Music Mates is a group class to help students form an acquaintance with the keyboard, to establish a feeling for a steady beat and to begin the development of 5-finger dexterity. The program includes learning to play childhood tunes as well as providing a general music background to prepare a child for private study

VISUAL ART
Little Artists (Ages 5-7)

In this mixed media class, our youngest artists will have the chance to explore a variety of materials and projects. From painting and drawing to air dry clay, paper mache and more students will be free to get creative in our studio and no clean up for parents!

Spring Themed Clay (Ages 5-10)

During this clay class students will create coil, slab, and 3D spring themed ceramic and air dry clay projects. Think of bunnies, small baskets, flowers and other nature inspired creations. Kiln fee, glazes, and other materials are included in the cost of this class.

Clay Animal Homes (Ages 7-10)

Students will create small animals along with their homes out of ceramic and air dry clay as decorative items around the home. Small creations will be made by using coil, slab, and varied 3D techniques. Kiln fee, glazes and other materials are included in the cost of this class.

Minecraft Vs. Roblox (Ages 7-12)

Minecrafters and Roblox fans get ready to create their own figures made from polymer clay complete with their own scale model world, as you construct from hands on materials instead of virtually.

Young artists will learn to draw shapes as basic building blocks for creating. A focus on overlapping larger shaped objects over smaller ones will create depth. Color and imaginative drawing will also add to the enjoyment of drawing.

Discover the joy of painting using Acrylic, tempera and watercolor. Projects will include winter landscapes, impressionist artist inspired, and imaginative paintings. Be prepared to get messy, and responsible clean up of art materials.

Anime and Manga (Ages 9-15)
April 5-June 7 (10 Weeks)

Anime and Manga are both a style of Japanese animation, similar in style and technique. Anime is found mostly in TV shows and Movies. Manga is found in comic books and graphic novels. Both offer a unique drawing style that has the potential to allow for individualization of a creative technique. Students will experience a basic introduction to manga and anime including the background and origins of the art form. Projects include a modified version of a glass painting using clear plastic and painting on items that you will choose to bring in.

Artists will explore drawing techniques such as shading as they sketch a still life. Pet week will involve a chalk pastel drawing of your favorite furry or not so furry friend. A photo of your pet may be brought to class or students may use an animal from our collection. Perspective, Imaginative and optical illusions will be explored.

Cartooning (Ages 10-15)

Cartoon artists will explore drawing their favorite characters such as SpongeBob, Garfield, Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, The Simpsons or any other cartoon character you wish. We will learn to create a storyboard, and invent our own characters into a book. Using our imagination, we will enjoy the art of drawing, while having the option to color as we wish with watercolor, markers, or colored pencils.

Acrylic Painting for Teens (Ages 12-17)

Teens wanting to begin or advance their painting skills may join this fun and upbeat class. The fundamental guidelines to painting will be discussed and tools of the trade will be gone over. Students with more advanced skills will thrive within this class.

THEATER
Acting Through the Ages! – An Exploration of Theatrical Styles (Ages 12 – 18)

In this interactive course, young theater students will learn about different theatrical styles. Part theater-history course and part-acting workshop, the course will focus on how to approach different styles of theater. Every week, we will tackle a new genre/style of theater; we’ll dive into Greek Tragedy, Theatre of the Absurd, Epic Theatre, and even work with puppets! Perfect for curious young theater artists who are looking to expand their horizons and have a lot of fun in the process.

Every week, students will learn about some element 0of performing, and each week, students will re-create a story about lovable zoo creatures . Introduction to Acting: Heroes & Villains (Ages 6 – 8)

Musical theater is more than just jazz hands and kicklines. In this course, students will learn how to interpret a song and use creative movement to tell a story. Students will work together to learn and perform ensemble numbers. This is a great opportunity for young students to develop their performance skills and work together with their peers! Also, there will be some jazz hands and kicklines. Basic reading skills required.
