James Taylor is a family man with an Engineering degree from Penn State. He works as a machine designer for an industrial equipment manufacturer. When he is not spending time with his wife Lisa and two kids Hunter and Madison, he trains in the life protection systems of Okinawa, Japan. He received his Shodan rank from Hanshi John Snyder after training for eight years. Rank was never his goal for training, it just came along through the process. The true reason for his training was to gain an understanding of classical Okinawan karate. What he learned is that life protection is not only about protecting yourself and others from violence, but more importantly about protecting yourself from an unhealthy lifestyle. Through a state of wellness, both physically and mentally, we can continue to train our mind, body, and spirit into our later years avoiding most of the health issues that can come with aging.
