Tara (Reber) Bernstel currently teaches music classes and private voice and piano lessons at Yocum Institute. Tara is a graduate of Kutztown University with degrees in Music Education and Music Performance. She is currently the Music Director at Long Memorial UM Church and is the co-founder/owner of the MissBehavin’ Band. Tara enjoys performing regularly in the Reading and surrounding areas. She enjoys working with musicians and students of all ages and has been teaching privately for over 20 years. Tara has experience teaching children and adults from ages 3 to 73. and has taught piano, voice, music theory, & music appreciation. Tara has experience as choreographer, drama club director, musical director, choir director, performer, vocal coach & teacher. Tara taught Pre-K to 8th grade classroom music at St. Eleanor School in Collegeville. While there, she wrote, choreographed, and directed several musicals. Tara also was the High School Choral Director & Music Teacher at Hamburg Area High School where she taught classroom music to 9th to 12th graders, choreographed, and directed the high school musical, drama club, and seasonal shows. Tara also has experience directing Church Choirs of all ages, Praise Bands, and interpretive dance. She has had the privilege of co-directing her choir with the Reading Pop’s Orchestra at several Vesper Services. Tara is currently continuing her education and working toward a degree in Worship Leading.
